– The shelter was supposed to serve residents; it was meant to be a place where people could sit down, eat a sandwich after a bike ride or hold a quiet community gathering. Unfortunately, it has become a place for parties with alcohol, noise and mess – reports one of the residents of Turkusowa Street. – From the warm autumn months through spring, loud conversations, shouting and music can be heard in the evenings and at night. People drink and make noise until two, three, and sometimes four in the morning. We called the police repeatedly, but it did not achieve much.
According to residents, the shelter has an electricity connection, which, they claim, makes it possible to hold drinking gatherings complete with refrigerators, music and lighting. There are also rumors circulating among the local community that someone may be charging fees for making the place available.
– The municipality probably pays for all of this: the electricity and rubbish collection, while the partygoers leave behind a huge mess – adds another resident.
Because the problems have been escalating, some residents are considering sending an official letter to the municipality’s wójt, Andrzej Janiec. As they say, interventions by the local district officer have had no effect, and it was only the arrival of police from Bolesławiec that ended one of the most recent parties.
– It is a beautiful place; it is a shame that it has been taken over by people who do not respect others. Instead of recreational use, we have nighttime noise disturbances and increased car traffic on the estate. The partygoers stock up at Dino and come back here to party. And yet this was supposed to be a space for everyone – sums up one of the neighbors.
Residents are hoping for a response from the municipal authorities and for the shelter to be restored to its original function—as a place serving the local community, rather than a source of nuisance.
Unfortunately, under wójt Andrzej Janiec, the municipal authorities have remained silent and have not provided any response..
