After receiving a report of a stolen Volkswagen van, police officers got to work. – As a result of the operational activities undertaken, the search area for the stolen car was narrowed – explains Assistant Inspector Przemysław Rybikowski, press officer of the District Police Headquarters in Polkowice. – Three days after the report was filed, officers not only found the repainted car abandoned in a forested area, but also tracked down the person behind the theft.

Crime investigators detained a 16-year-old resident of Żukowice commune who, as it turned out, had stolen the Volkswagen van out of... laziness. The spokesperson said: – The teenager had nearly a 9-kilometre walk home ahead of him when he noticed an open car made by a German manufacturer.

The minor was ultimately questioned by officers in the presence of a parent, and the III Family and Juvenile Division of the District Court in Głogów will decide his future.
