The incident occurred on June 5, after 3:00 p.m., in Bolków. – Police officers intervened against a man suspected of committing an offense involving the appropriation of a car. The perpetrator did not respond at all to the officers’ commands and tried to flee the scene – reports junior inspector Ewa Kluczyńska, press officer for the Jawor District Police Headquarters. – As a result, the officers used direct coercive measures and also used their service firearms to immobilize the vehicle.

How did the intervention end?

The spokesperson: – At this point, two people have been detained in the case, including the extremely aggressive driver of the appropriated vehicle.

She adds: – Unfortunately, during an attempt by the officers to stop the vehicle using their service firearms, one of the bullets ricocheted, injuring a police officer in the calf. The officer was transported to hospital. Fortunately, his life and health are not in any danger.

She also concludes: – A criminal investigation team and a prosecutor worked at the scene. All circumstances of the incident are being clarified.
