The arrest took place on Tuesday, 22 March. During a patrol, police officers noticed two men—a 54-year-old resident of a rural municipality and a 41-year-old resident of Bolesławiec—transporting an almost 6-metre metal structure on a trolley. It turned out to be a reinforcing element used in the construction of noise barriers.

The structure, worth nearly PLN 1,000, had been stolen from the railway embankment area. The suspects intended to sell it for scrap. At the time of their arrest, both men were drunk. Their blood alcohol levels ranged from 1 to more than 2 per mille. They now face up to 5 years in prison.
