Spokeswoman:

In connection with the incident, police once again appeal to all road users to exercise prudence, caution and mutual respect on the road. Particularly during the spring and summer season, when more motorcyclists appear on the roads, it is important that both riders and passenger-vehicle drivers exercise particular caution.

Motorcyclists should remember the basic safety rules: wearing appropriate protective clothing, including a helmet; adjusting their speed to road conditions and their own abilities; and remembering that they are less visible to car drivers. Passenger-vehicle drivers, in turn, must remain vigilant before changing lanes, turning or making a U-turn—it is worth checking several times that the road is clear.

And she concludes: – Only shared responsibility and mutual respect on the road can help improve safety and prevent further tragedies.
