The District Prosecutor’s Office in Lwówek Śląski is supervising preparatory proceedings against a 45-year-old resident of Lwówek County suspected of insulting paramedics and making criminal threats against them while they were providing him with medical assistance.

The incident occurred on April 13, 2025, in Wleń. – An Emergency Medical Team was called to a man on the street who was suffering from a coughing fit and shortness of breath – reports Ewa Węglarowicz-Makowska, spokesperson for the District Prosecutor’s Office in Jelenia Góra. – The paramedics who arrived at the scene asked the patient to get into the ambulance so they could examine him. When they indicated a specific place for the man inside the ambulance, he became indignant and got out of the vehicle. He told the paramedics that he no longer needed their help.

But that was not the end of it. The spokesperson said: – He then began insulting them with vulgar words commonly regarded as offensive. He also threatened to take their lives, which gave the victims justified grounds to fear that the threats would be carried out.

The suspect was charged with insulting public officials in connection with and while they were performing their official duties, as well as making threats against them to take their lives. This type of offense is punishable by up to two years in prison.

The suspect did not admit to committing the alleged offense. He gave an explanation, stating that he did not remember what had happened.

The District Prosecutor in Lwówek Śląski imposed a non-custodial preventive measure on him: police supervision.

The man had no previous criminal convictions.
