The 45-year-old, an employee of a transport company from Lublin, reported the theft of a truck carrying power tools to the Bolesławiec police on Friday morning. He said that he had spent the night at a motel in Prnjavor and that when he woke up, the truck was already gone. During the questioning, police officers realized that the man was lying.
On Saturday, the driver admitted that for PLN 30,000 he had handed over the truck, which together with its cargo was worth just under PLN 650,000. On Sunday, the man was charged and remanded in custody by the court.
The vehicle and the remaining thieves are currently being sought.
