The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon. The duty officer at the Lwówek police station received a report of a possible child abduction. As reported by lwowecki.info:
According to the reporting woman, a van cut off two girls riding bicycles on the road between Gajówka in the municipality of Mirsk and Młyńsko in the municipality of Gryfów Śląski. The situation was unusual enough that the woman who witnessed the incident notified the officers. Along with her description of the situation, she gave the police the vehicle’s registration number.
Police patrols were immediately dispatched to the scene. Some officers examined the evidence, while others worked to establish the identity of the vehicle’s owner. As it turned out, the van belonged to one of the companies near Bolesławiec. It was being used by one of its employees, a resident of Lwówek County.
A moment later, officers appeared at the aforementioned man’s property. As it turned out, he was… the girls’ father, who had simply taken them home.
The report was deemed a false alarm, but made in good faith.
