Last Thursday, officers from the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec arrested 4 intoxicated drivers, two of them cyclists.
A police patrol stopped a 48-year-old woman from Bolesławiec County. The woman was driving a car with more than 3 parts per mille of alcohol in her system. Meanwhile, a 50-year-old man got behind the wheel with 1.5 parts per mille.
Traffic officers also checked the sobriety of a 27-year-old cyclist; the man had nearly 3 parts per mille of alcohol in his system. The second cyclist who had been drinking was stopped by officers from the Police Station in Kruszyn—the 39-year-old had more than 2 parts per mille. The officers noted: “The fact that he was visible from a distance because he was wearing a reflective jacket.
They summed up: “Driving a car while intoxicated is a crime punishable by up to 3 years in prison. Riding a bicycle while intoxicated is a misdemeanor punishable by a PLN 2,500 fine.
