Police officers from Legnica and Lubin, detectives from Wrocław and Poznań, as well as officers from the Independent Police Counter-Terrorism Subunit and the Police Prevention Unit in Wrocław, working closely together, identified in record time, during operational activities, individuals who might be connected with attempted ATM burglaries that had occurred in the Lower Silesian and Greater Poland voivodeships.
– On the night from Thursday to Friday, officers from various voivodeships and units, acting together, arrested three perpetrators in a direct pursuit. They had attempted to break into an ATM located in Kłodzko County – reports asp. szt. Łukasz Dutkowiak from the Wrocław Provincial Police Headquarters. – The perpetrators damaged the device but failed to get inside it and were therefore unable to take any money.
Officers secured evidence and questioned witnesses. After analyzing the secured material and obtaining expert opinions, it will be possible to determine the perpetrators’ methods in detail.
The arrested men were taken into police custody and are awaiting the presentation of charges. The proceedings will be conducted under the supervision of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Legnica. This type of crime is punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
