Swift karma caught up with a 33-year-old resident of Lubin. – The man, known to the police, stole, among other things, bottles of alcohol from a shop, then hurriedly ran out of the premises – reports Asp. Sgt. Krzysztof Pawlik, deputy press officer of the Lubin District Police Headquarters. – Seeing that a market employee had set off in pursuit, he quickened his pace and attempted to escape by running across the street in an unauthorised place.

The thief, so preoccupied with escaping with his loot, failed to notice an Audi travelling correctly. He ran into it with force. The spokesperson said: – The bottles of the drink the thief so desired broke, while the thief himself suffered a broken leg.

The thief was caught by an employee of the robbed shop and then handed over to the police.

Police officer:

Instead of being taken to a cell, the 33-year-old was taken to hospital, where his limb was immobilised. The man will now face two charges for his escapade – the first concerning shoplifting, and the second causing a threat to road safety. It will certainly result, among other things, in a hefty fine and an obligation to repair the damage, namely to cover the cost of the broken goods and vehicle repairs. So even the smallest offence does not pay.
