According to a reader’s account, at 1:30 a.m. tonight the skatepark was brightly lit
The skatepark was beautifully lit, like a stadium before a match. And apparently we have smart lighting in the town that can adjust the need for lighting…?
Indeed, the question arises: what about this “smart lighting”? It was supposed to adjust brightness to actual needs. And the most important question: why illuminate every lamp in the middle of the night on an empty site?
It is worth remembering that responsible lighting management is not only a matter of reducing energy expenditure, but also protecting the environment from so-called “light pollution.” Excessive artificial light at night disrupts the circadian rhythm of people and animals, negatively affects astronomical observations, and is associated with unnecessary energy consumption. Rational use of lighting—especially at night, when human traffic and activity are minimal—can therefore significantly reduce costs, improve residents’ quality of life, and lessen the adverse impact on nature.
