Lwówek police on the incident:

Yesterday morning (February 13, 2025), the officer on duty at the Lwówek police station received a report of a break-in at one of the stores in Mirsk. Officers determined that the incident had occurred during the night. Using an axe, the perpetrator entered the premises and stole a cash box. The total losses were estimated at PLN 10,000.

Thanks to the officers’ swift actions and excellent knowledge of the area, police from Mirsk and Gryfów Śląski managed to establish the perpetrator’s identity. Just a few hours after the report was received, officers went to the address where he was believed to be staying. The man, trying to avoid arrest, ran out onto the building’s snow-covered and icy roof. After successful negotiations, he surrendered and was arrested.

The 41-year-old resident of Lwówek County was charged with burglary, to which he pleaded guilty. Police recovered the stolen cash box and money. The suspect faces up to 10 years in prison.


The incident took place on the night from Wednesday to Thursday in Mirsk. As reported by lwowecki.info:

Residents tell us that the man, armed with an axe, smashed the glass in the delicatessen’s entrance door and went inside. He then damaged the store’s cash register and removed the cash box containing the money.

Police did not receive the report of the break-in until the morning. Officers quickly established the suspect’s identity. The 41-year-old resident of Lwówek County tried to hide from the police, who knocked on his door… on the building’s roof.

Firefighters were called to the scene. Fortunately, the man was safely brought back down to the ground.

The Lwówek news portal: – According to initial findings, the suspect stole cash amounting to PLN 300. The cash box containing the money was recovered. However, the losses caused by the suspect were estimated at PLN 10,000.

The 41-year-old now faces up to 10 years in prison.
