– As part of the responsibilities of the Public Procurement and Municipal Investments Department, an agreement was concluded for the project entitled “Zero-emission public transport – continuation of the process of electrifying the municipal transport fleet in the Municipality of Bolesławiec” – President Piotr Roman informed councillors at the January session of the City Council. The five new buses are to arrive in Miasto Ceramiki in December this year.
– And that is good news, because once again the contractor is the Polish company Solaris from Bolechowo – the mayor continued. – Generally speaking, these are not Chinese buses, which major cities have been experiencing serious problems with.
The project will be co-financed by the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, with a substantial amount of more than PLN 10 million.
The president summed up:
We are very pleased with these electric buses, and I think the residents are too. From our perspective, it is clear that the daily operation of these buses is much cheaper than that of buses running on conventional fuel.
