A report of the theft of a Land Rover was received by police officers in Lwówek Śląski on January 20 this year. The officers immediately took action, carrying out a series of operational activities aimed at identifying the perpetrator and recovering the vehicle. Thanks to their commitment and cooperation, they managed to arrest a 28-year-old resident of Lwówek County the following day. He confessed to the theft. The police also recovered the stolen vehicle, which had been abandoned in Bolesławiec County.

At the same time, officers from the Criminal Department were investigating an attempted fraud. A 30-year-old man, taking advantage of information about the car theft, contacted the vehicle’s owners. Claiming to have information about the location of the Land Rover, he demanded money from them in exchange for providing that information. In reality, he had no knowledge of the stolen vehicle. The man was arrested and charged with attempted fraud, to which he confessed.

Both men will stand trial for their actions. The 28-year-old faces up to 5 years in prison for the theft, while the 30-year-old may be sentenced to up to 8 years in prison for attempted fraud.
