In Chełm, Płock, Stalowa Wola, Konin and Ostrołęka, local authorities decided to launch municipal filling stations. This was because the situation on those local fuel markets was similar to that in Bolesławiec: prices were higher than at stations in neighboring cities and counties.
– The city already has a ready-made municipal company trading in fossil fuels – says Leszek Socha. – All it would take would be to expand its operations to include a liquid-fuel filling station. It would be a great thing if the ZEC company took over the filling station at the former Tesco site. It would be enough to expand its operations to include a filling station. It would provide excellent competition and could genuinely ease the burden on the wallets of city residents. I expect that not everyone will welcome this and that obstacles will be put in the way. It would be good to submit this to public discussion. The only thing needed is to ensure that it is done for the benefit of society – Socha adds.
We asked the president of ZEC in Bolesławiec whether this was technically possible. We are awaiting a response.
