– Officers from the Patrol and Intervention Department of the Legnica police, while on duty, noticed a man who, upon seeing them, began acting nervously, avoided eye contact and gave the impression that he was trying to avoid interaction – reports junior warrant officer Anna Tersa from the Legnica Municipal Police Headquarters. – After intervening and attempting to establish the man’s identity, he provided false personal details, which aroused the officers’ further suspicions.

The officers found a wallet on the man containing his genuine identity card, as well as a packet of a crystalline substance. The spokesperson reports:

After checking the 41-year-old in police information systems, it came to light that he was wanted by the prison authorities because he had not returned to prison after being granted leave. A drug test confirmed that the secured substance was methamphetamine.

The 41-year-old now faces up to an additional three years in prison.
