– A road incident occurred on one of the streets of Bolesławiec on Friday evening. The perpetrator got out of the vehicle and attempted to leave the scene – reports asp. szt. Anna Kublik-Rościszewska, press officer of the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec.
He was unlucky, however, as a foot patrol of officers from the Independent Police Prevention Unit in Legnica was nearby. The officers immediately set off after the 48-year-old, ordering him to stop. – Only after a longer while did the man react – the policewoman reports. – A sobriety test showed that he had been driving while intoxicated; he had nearly 1 per mille of alcohol in his system.
The suspect will be held responsible for driving while intoxicated, causing a road collision and failing to comply with officers’ orders. The police:
Last week, he heard charges in connection with criminal activity on January 12, 2025. The suspect damaged property worth nearly PLN 6,000 and made threats against the owner of a service establishment. In addition, the prosecutor placed the suspect under police supervision and imposed a restraining order and a ban on contacting the injured party.
The resident of Bolesławiec faces up to 5 years in prison.
