– Yesterday, during a patrol in Bolesławiec, officers from the Independent Preventive Police Unit in Legnica conducted vehicle checks, as a result of which they arrested two men subject to court-imposed driving bans – reports asp. szt. Anna Kublik-Rościszewska, press officer of the Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters.
She adds: – Despite the bans in force, both men were driving on the streets in the city centre. A check of police databases confirmed that both the 52-year-old resident of Bolesławiec municipality and the 35-year-old resident of the city had committed an offence by getting behind the wheel.
The older of the arrested men has two judgments from the District Court in Bolesławiec, under which he was given two-year driving bans valid until August 2026. The younger man also has two active bans. They remain in force until August this year.
Breaking a court-imposed driving ban is punishable by up to five years in prison.
