The incident occurred on Friday evening in Wleń. As reported by lwowecki.info:

At around 8 p.m., an Emergency Notification Centre operator received a report from a man who said that he wanted to jump from a bridge.

When the emergency services arrived, the man was already ready to throw himself into the Bóbr River. Fortunately, the firefighters managed to catch him and pull him away from the railing.

The man was placed in the care of medical personnel.

That was not the end of it, however. It emerged that the 28-year-old resident of Lwówek County was wanted because he had a prison sentence to serve. (He will be going there soon, in fact.) He made his desperate decision while completely drunk—he had nearly 3.5‰ of alcohol in his system.
