As Oskar’s parents explain:
It must be some kind of nightmare! We have not yet recovered from one tragedy, and fate has already put us to another test.
Not long ago, our family faced another tragedy. Oskar’s father was shot in the head while on duty. He miraculously survived. He lost an eye and is still fighting to recover.
And they add:
Now our son is fighting for his health, Oskar. Oskar is 15 years old; until now, he had led the life of a typical teenager. He attended secondary school and pursued his passion by playing basketball. It all changed on December 10, 2024. During routine blood tests, it turned out that the results were very bad. Leukemia was suspected. Oskar was urgently taken by ambulance to Przylądek Nadziei, where he heard what no teenager his age should have to hear. After numerous tests, the diagnosis was confirmed: chronic myeloid leukemia. We left Przylądek Nadziei on December 24, 2024, deeply concerned about our son’s life.
They also add: – For now, Oskar is taking chemotherapy in tablet form. As a family, we want our son to feel the effects of this illness as little as possible and to be able to lead a normal life, but this requires special nutrition, medication, supplements, rehabilitation and weekly trips to the clinic. This involves considerable expenses, on top of the many costs we already have related to Oskar’s father’s treatment. Every donation, even the smallest one, will help us in our fight to restore our son’s health.
