On November 30, free training for candidates seeking to serve as non-professional foster families concluded at the Powiatowe Centrum Pomocy Rodzinie w Bolesławcu (62 teaching hours, including 10 hours of practical training at Dom Dziecka w Bolesławcu).
As Bolesławiec County reports: – The training was conducted by two trainers employed by our Centre and followed the “Rodzina” Training Programme, licensed by Stowarzyszenie Rodzin Adopcyjnych i Zastępczych “Pro Familia” in Kraków.
Nine people, including four married couples, qualified for the training. Most of the participants were non-professional foster families operating on the basis of a court decision. During the weekly meetings, participants had the opportunity to learn about the specifics of foster family life both at home and in the wider community.
The training covered issues including organising childcare, improving foster parents’ care and upbringing skills at different stages of a child’s life, domestic violence, cooperation between the foster family and the child’s environment, and the basics of first aid.
All participants passed the exam and received certificates of completion. The County summed up:
The final day of the training was filled with emotions, heartfelt moments and memorable experiences. The candidates met a professional foster family that has been operating in our county for seven years. Ms Beata shared her experiences of caring for and raising children, pointed out the advantages and challenges of foster parenthood, and answered many questions troubling the training participants. At the end, she shared a very wise truth important to all carers: love, kindness and calm help overcome every obstacle, while foster care brings joy and satisfaction. Another pleasant moment was the formal presentation of certificates of completion, along with gifts, by Bolesławiec County Starost Tomasz Gabrysiak and Justyna Ziółkowska – director of PCPR in Bolesławiec. The Starost and the Director personally thanked and congratulated all the candidates, wishing them peace and satisfaction in carrying out their role.
It also adds:
We thank our new foster parents for their big hearts and wish them success in carrying out the tasks entrusted to them, as well as satisfaction, peace and joy from every day spent with the children.
At the same time, we invite people willing to serve as foster families, share their hearts and create a sense of security for children deprived of the care and upbringing of their biological parents.
