The incident occurred in Płóczki Dolne. – Police officers from the Traffic Division who were patrolling the area noticed a vehicle with a damaged exhaust system, which could be heard from a long way away – explains junior constable Olga Łukaszewicz, press officer of the District Police Headquarters in Lwówek Śląski. – They attempted to stop the car for a traffic check, but the driver ignored the stop signals and accelerated, trying to avoid contact with the officers.
The man was arrested after a brief chase. As it turned out, he had quite a lot to answer for. Not only had his driving licence been revoked, but it also emerged that he was driving under the influence of drugs. What is more, the car he was driving had registration plates belonging to another vehicle.
The 30-year-old from Lwówek County was arrested and placed in a police cell. He faces up to five years in prison.
