– A resident of Wrocław reported to the Bolesławiec police unit in response to a summons. During the questioning, a police officer smelled alcohol on the 40-year-old – reports aspirant staff officer Anna Kublik-Rościszewska, press officer of the Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters. – When asked how he had arrived at the station, the man admitted that he had driven there.

A sobriety test showed that the man was under the influence of alcohol; his body contained more than 0.2 per mille of alcohol.

The district police officer checked the unit's surveillance footage and confirmed that the 40-year-old had committed an offence by driving a car. The spokesperson said: – Police officers confiscated the driver's licence. He is now facing another questioning.

Driving a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol is punishable by arrest or a fine of at least PLN 2,500, as well as losing one's driving licence for up to 3 years.
