The 16th “Park of Art” Painting Plein-Air Event was once again fortunate to take place on the grounds of the Zamek Kliczków hotel complex near Bolesławiec, thanks to the cooperation and support of the Wrocław Cultural and Art Centre – a Cultural Institution of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship Self-Government, the Pro Culturae Bono Foundation, and the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre – International Ceramics Centre.
Ten artists from Lower Silesia and beyond were invited to participate. As usual, the artists lived and worked in the complex belonging to the Zamek Kliczków Conference and Leisure Centre, enjoyed the green areas of the Lower Silesian Forests, had the opportunity to explore the picturesque surroundings of Bolesławiec, learn about the history of the place and enjoy nature.
The plein-air event brought together 10 artists and 10 approaches representing different generations, as well as 10 days of residence and 10 evenings during which long conversations about art and life could take place. These days gradually made it possible to open up to one another, get to know each other, recognise one another, talk, remain silent, observe, and “with impunity” and freely confront oneself with other artists. Work in the studio, as one might guess, is an observation of oneself on the plane of one’s personal horizon. Bringing 10 artists together in a space outside the comfort zone of their own studios offers—though it need not—the opportunity for a broader perspective and an exchange of thoughts, images and experiences. The synergy of the group and a sense of community emerge. The curator of the plein-air event is Krystyna Szczepaniak.
The plein-air event culminates in an exhibition at the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre – International Ceramics Centre. We warmly invite you to the opening on 8 November 2024 at 6:00 p.m. The works can be admired at the “W sam raz” gallery until 24 November 2024, during the opening hours of Kino FORUM.
