The officer turned around and followed the suspect so as not to lose sight of him. – At the same time, he informed the police officers on duty about the incident, while precisely indicating his location – explains Senior Warrant Officer Anna Kublik-Rościszewska, press officer of our District Police Headquarters.

She adds: – After a moment, when he saw a marked police car approaching, the driver performed several manoeuvres which, perhaps in his view, were intended to throw the officers off his trail. It was of little use, however, and the 47-year-old man was detained. It turned out that he was drunk; a breath test showed nearly 1 per mille of alcohol. A beer bottle was also found in the car.

The spokeswoman: – The Bolesławiec County resident now faces up to 3 years in prison, loss of their driving licence and substantial financial penalties.
