– Police officers from the Legnica traffic unit, while on duty on the A4 motorway, noticed a traffic jam forming. The officers activated their lights and siren to check whether a road incident had occurred – reports Commissioner Jagoda Ekiert, press officer of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Legnica. – When the officers reached the beginning of the obstruction, they saw a disabled Seat vehicle in the left lane with its lights off and a sleeping man inside.

The officers woke the 26-year-old, who was completely disoriented. The spokesperson said: – He was unable to logically explain what he was doing there, why he had stopped his vehicle on the motorway, and why he had gone to sleep.

The officers found a glass pipe and marijuana on the 26-year-old resident of Jawor. The policewoman said:

As there was a suspicion that the 26-year-old might be under its influence, a drug test was carried out, which showed the presence of intoxicating substances from the cannabis group. The man’s driving licence was confiscated, and the vehicle was removed by roadside assistance.

The man was taken into police custody. He will soon be charged. Possession of intoxicating substances and driving under the influence of drugs are punishable by up to three years in prison.
