Immediately after receiving the victim’s report that he had just been robbed, officers from the Police Station in Nowogrodziec set out into the area in pursuit of the perpetrator. – A resident of Bolesławiec County informed the officers that several minutes earlier, while he was in the vicinity of a bus stop, a man dressed in black had snatched a shopping bag from his hand. It contained a pouch with documents and cash – reports asp. szt. Anna Kublik-Rościszewska, press officer of the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec.

The description provided by the informant enabled the rapid location of the perpetrator. The thief was arrested within an hour of committing the crime.
On the suspect, in the inner pocket of his jacket, Nowogrodziec police officers found nearly PLN 2,400—the entire amount of the stolen cash. In addition, the 29-year-old had a small bag of marijuana in his trouser pocket. The spokesperson: – Further actions led the officers to the place where the thief had abandoned the pouch along with the documents belonging to the victim.
The 29-year-old resident of Nowogrodziec gmina will now face charges of particularly brazen theft and drug possession. The man is known to the police and has previous property-related offenses on his record. Police:
Anyone who commits particularly brazen theft is liable to imprisonment for between 6 months and 8 years.
The police returned the recovered property to its owner.
