Złotoryja police officers intervened in connection with a report from a resident of the county. – According to her account, during a domestic dispute, her husband insulted her using vulgar language and subjected her to physical violence, including hitting, kicking and strangling, as a result of which the woman suffered numerous bodily injuries – says Senior Officer Aleksandra Pieprzycka from the Press Section of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław. – He also threatened her and his parents-in-law with death.

The 36-year-old aggressor was detained and charged with two offenses: causing bodily harm to his wife and making criminal threats to kill, both against his wife and his parents-in-law.

The District Court in Złotoryja granted the police and prosecutor’s request and remanded the suspect in custody for three months. The spokesperson says: – He faces up to three years in prison for his acts.

She adds:

Violence and abuse are a secret in many families and, among other reasons, because of shame before society and fear of the perpetrator, remain within the so-called four walls. We appeal to people affected by this tragedy not to be ashamed to speak about their situation. Both police officers and other institutions are always ready to help victims of domestic violence.
