The crime was committed in February 2007 in Bolesławiec. An unknown perpetrator at the time broke into one of the houses and stole power tools. – During activities at the scene, officers from the Criminal Investigation Department of the Bolesławiec police unit established that, during the burglary, the perpetrator released a rottweiler from one of the rooms, which most likely defended its territory. As a result, the thief was bitten – explains asp. szt. Anna Kublik-Rościszewska, press officer of the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec. – A forensic technician secured biological evidence, which was then entered into a police database also used by the services of other countries.

The result? In the United Kingdom, also in connection with a criminal case, biological evidence attributed to a man who was the perpetrator of the aforementioned burglary was secured. Interpol in Manchester informed the Polish side of its findings.

Spokeswoman: – The Bolesławiec unit reopened the discontinued investigation and carried out activities that established that the man is now 34 years old and lives in Legnica.

The thief, who got away with the burglary in the City of Ceramics for a long time, has now been charged. At the beginning of October, the case was concluded with an indictment and referred to court.
