During official operations conducted on the roads of Bolesławiec municipality, officers from the Traffic Department of the local Police unit stopped a 65-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County for inspection. He was driving a Mercedes. The man ignored the speed limit in a built-up area, exceeding it by 51 km/h.
Reckless driving, when a vehicle’s speedometer shows over 100 km/h in a built-up area, poses a real threat to the lives and health of other road users. Consequently, the driver faced the consequences of his actions, losing the ability to drive a car for a period of 3 months. In addition, the man was fined 1,500 zlotys and received 13 penalty points.
We once again appeal to drivers to take their foot off the accelerator. Excessive speed is a frequent cause of road incidents with tragic consequences. By driving safely, let us protect our own health and that of other road users.
