Bolesławiec Municipality:
Late yesterday evening, a team from the municipalities of Gorzyce and Baranów Sandomierski arrived at the Community Hall in Dąbrowa Bolesławiecka with aid for flood victims from our Municipality. The volunteers travelled 600 km to deliver, among other things, dehumidifiers, a power generator and cleaning supplies. (…) Volunteer firefighters from Ocice and Trzebień helped unload the donated goods.
Moreover, Gorzyce Municipality (Podkarpackie Voivodeship) also invited children from Bolesławiec Municipality to spend an educational nature camp there. As Leszek Surdy, head of the Podkarpackie municipality, explained, it has been cooperating with our Nowogrodziec for years. The head of Gorzyce therefore asked former mayor Roberto Relich who in our county needed support. – We wanted to reach the smaller towns because they are always somewhat on the sidelines and receive a little less of this assistance – the mayor said. He added that his municipality had been severely affected by floods three times over the past quarter-century: – We, too, received this kind of help many times, so we have a debt to repay.
