The warning concerns rapid rises in water levels along the following river sections in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship:
- Witka from Ostróżno to its confluence with the Lusatian Neisse,
- Kwisa from the Leśna Reservoir to Nowogrodziec,
- the Lusatian Neisse to Zgorzelec,
- the upper Kwisa to the Leśna Reservoir.
Due to ongoing and forecast rainfall in the upper Kwisa catchment and the tributaries of the upper Lusatian Neisse, further rises in water levels are expected—mainly within the medium-level range, locally reaching high levels.
The warning is in effect from April 20, 2026, at 2:18 p.m. until April 21, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. (official time). The phenomenon should subside within approximately 17 hours.
Recommendations:
Residents and local services should exercise particular caution in areas around rivers and streams, especially in foothill areas and valleys. There is a risk of local flooding and rapid rises in water levels in smaller waterways.
The situation is being monitored continuously by the Hydrological Forecast Office in Wrocław. Following announcements from IMGW and local emergency services is recommended.
