On Wednesday, September 18, new average fuel prices in Poland were published on the e-petrol.pl service website. The average retail price of 95-octane petrol at fuel stations across the country is PLN 6.03, while diesel costs PLN 6.05. In our region (apart from Bolesławiec and Bolesławiec County), there are already many stations with prices well below PLN 6 per litre.

Unfortunately, prices in Bolesławiec are still high... Driving a dozen or so kilometres beyond the city of ceramics, you can find fuel that is several dozen groszy cheaper per litre.

Discount for flood victims not available in Bolesławiec and Bolesławiec County

The devastating flood prompted PKN Orlen to reach out to people living in areas affected by the flooding and launch support initiatives for flood victims. These include discounts at selected stations in areas affected by the flood.

PKN Orlen:

In response to the catastrophic situation in southern Poland, ORLEN is carrying out initiatives for people in need from areas affected by the flood.

At selected ORLEN fuel stations, in accordance with the fuel product offer available at each station, individual customers will be able to purchase fuel at a lower price after giving the password “ORLEN dla powodzian”:

VERVA – PLN 0.20/l (max. 85 l)
EFECTA – PLN 0.15/l (max. 85 l)
LPG – PLN 0.10/l (no limit)

The lowest LPG price in the 30 days before the reduction at the 67 ORLEN stations covered by the initiative is PLN 2.65/l. Each additional litre of petrol or diesel above 85 l will be charged at the price shown on the dispenser during refuelling. Holders of the Large Family Card can receive an additional discount. The initiative is valid from September 19 to 30, 2024.

Unfortunately, this initiative does not apply in Bolesławiec (or Bolesławiec County) for now, even though Bolesławiec County was placed under a state of natural disaster, and water flooded many buildings and areas and damaged roads in Gmina Bolesławiec. The list of stations offering discounts includes, among others, those located in Lwówek Śląski, Gryfów Śląski, Jelenia Góra and Kamienna Góra.

Group – Paliwobc, STOP high fuel prices at stations in BOLESŁAWIEC

High fuel prices in Bolesławiec are increasingly frustrating drivers. Some are already trying to avoid refuelling in Bolesławiec and fill up in advance at stations outside the county. On September 20, a Facebook group called Paliwobc, STOP high fuel prices at stations in BOLESŁAWIEC was created as a protest against high prices. Will it change anything? What do you think?
