Three days ago, based on digital maps, the locations in the county that could be most at risk of flooding were identified.
– The most dangerous places have already been secured. The involvement of residents and all services is very substantial – says Tomasz Gabrysiak.
The starosta of Bolesławiec County assures that the level of the Bóbr River in the county is stabilizing. This is good news. However, there is also bad news.
– I hope we will manage to protect the city and municipality of Bolesławiec, although we already know that many places and roads are flooded – says starosta Tomasz Gabrysiak. – I hope that over the next few hours the water will recede enough for us to finally feel safe.
The critical points in Bolesławiec are the bridge on Zgorzelecka Street, where traffic was closed due to the possible collapse of a crane. Residents of the lowest-lying areas along the Bóbr are still fighting the water, including those on Kraszewskiego and Bema streets. Residents of Krępnica have suffered, and the residents of Bolesławice living near the rising gravel pit remain uncertain.
