Bolesławiec County head Tomasz Gabrysiak was honored with the Medal of the Commission of National Education. He received the distinction on Wednesday, 28 May, in Warsaw, from Minister of Education Barbara Nowacka.
The Medal of the Commission of National Education is awarded to people who have made particularly significant contributions to education and upbringing. In the case of the Bolesławiec County head, the distinction is connected, among other things, with efforts to develop education in Bolesławiec County.
The justification also cited the high pass rates for secondary-school-leaving and vocational examinations in schools run by the county, as well as concern for the safety and education of the younger generation.
The Medal of the Commission of National Education is one of the most important distinctions awarded in the field of education. It is given to people who have made a special contribution to the development of schooling and education, as well as work on behalf of students and teachers.
Bolesławiec County runs upper-secondary schools, including general secondary schools, technical schools and vocational schools. The results achieved by these institutions, the organization of education and efforts related to the development of local education were cited as the reasons for awarding the medal to the county head.
