– Last Monday, officers from the Police Station in Chojnów were sent to an apartment in the city, where an aggressive man was reportedly beating his own mother – says Asp. Staff Monika Kaleta from the Wrocław Provincial Police Headquarters.
It turned out that the 32-year-old man had verbally abused his mother, threatened her, and struck her in the face and hands several times. He also took her phone so that she could not notify the police. Spokeswoman: – The frightened woman ran out of the apartment, locking the door behind her, thereby preventing the attacker from following her.
The victim asked a neighbor for help, and the neighbor called the police.
When the officers entered the apartment, the man was aggressive and agitated. Policewoman: – He did not respond to the officers’ commands and insulted them using words commonly considered vulgar. When the officers attempted to arrest the man, he attacked them, but he was quickly subdued and handcuffed.
That was not the end of it. The officers also proved that the aggressor had stolen alcohol from a shop several months earlier.
Investigators gathered evidence that allowed them to bring a total of seven charges against the 32-year-old, including making criminal threats, causing bodily harm, insulting officers, exerting influence over official proceedings, and brazen theft. Spokeswoman:
The 32-year-old committed the offenses as a repeat offender, having been released from prison just six months earlier.
The man was remanded in custody for three months. He faces up to 12 years in prison.
