– Last Saturday, at around 10 p.m., police officers received information about the citizen’s arrest of an intoxicated driver in the village of Legnickie Pole – reports Commissioner Jagoda Ekiert, press officer of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Legnica.
She adds:
A traffic patrol confirmed the reporting person’s suspicions. The 43-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County had nearly 3‰ of alcohol in his exhaled breath. After checking the man in police information systems, it emerged that he had two bans on driving motor vehicles. Officers detained the man and placed him in a police cell.
The spokesperson adds:
Once again, the proper conduct of witnesses to the incident helped prevent a drunk driver from continuing to drive and perhaps helped avoid another tragedy caused by such a reckless driver.
We remind you that driving a car while intoxicated carries a penalty of 3 years in prison, loss of driving privileges, a driving ban and a hefty fine.
