As PKP PLK reports:

We will travel faster, among other routes, from Warsaw to Poznań, Szczecin and Białystok. Passengers will board trains at new stops in Łódź, Grudziądz, Koszalin and Głowno. Billion-zloty railway investments require changes to the operation of some long-distance and regional trains.

The timetable adjustment will apply from 1 September to 9 November this year. PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A., together with carriers, have developed connections in a way that makes the best use of the railway lines’ capabilities while providing contractors with conditions for continuing their work. The timetable change also makes it possible to operate passenger connections, transport goods and carry out the largest railway investments in years, improving the comfort, accessibility and safety of rail travel.

Shorter travel times

From September, we will travel from Poznań to Warsaw in 2 hr 18 min, and from the capital to Szczecin in 4 hr 32 min (EIC train 1804/8105 Sedina). Train EIC 1800/8101 Chrobry will also have a similar travel time on the Warsaw–Poznań–Szczecin route.

We will also travel from Warsaw to Białystok in a record time of 1 hr 38 min. The train will cover this route about half an hour faster than a car. The direct fast connection from Warsaw to Białystok, without stops at intermediate stations, is being operated on a pilot basis.

Residents of Łódź Voivodeship will also gain fast connections to Warsaw. This will be the PKP Intercity train operating on the Łódź–Białystok – Łódź route (IC 1106/1007 Esperanto), which will stop only in the capital. As a result, the journey from Łódź Widzew station to Warszawa Zachodnia will take 58 min, and from Łódź Fabryczna to Warszawa Centralna 1 hr 12 min. In addition, the journey on the Kraków–Bochnia route will also be several minutes shorter. Most trains will cover this route in approximately 22 min. Shorter travel times are the result of ongoing work on the railway network, the reorganisation of the rail connection network and fewer stops along the way.

Travel from new stops

From 1 September, new stops Koszalin Politechnika and Koszalin Wschodni will provide better access to rail transport. Passengers will also board trains at the new stops Grudziądz Rządz, Łódź Zarzew and Głowno Północne. In Podkarpackie Voivodeship, a new stop in Lutoryż, built on line no. 106 Rzeszów–Jasło, will be opened for use. In Lower Silesia, trains will stop at Strzelce Świdnickie stop (the Wrocław–Świdnica railway line). It will be served on request.

Billion-zloty investments and changes to train services

The company:

The timetable adjustment allows passengers to benefit from the results of the work and carriers to tailor the best possible offer for travellers. Railway investments are continuing, which requires changes to the timetable.

Due to the start of a billion-zloty investment in Katowice, from 1 September train traffic through the city’s main station will be maintained; however, the extensive scope of the works requires changes to the timetable. Some trains will run on diverted routes, while others will operate on shortened routes. Nine PKP Intercity trains will stop at Katowice Ligota station, bypassing Katowice station. On selected dates, replacement bus services (ZKA) will operate instead of some regional night trains.

Comfortable rail travel in Pomerania will be ensured by the modernisation of line no. 202 on the Lębork–Słupsk section. Replacement bus services will be introduced between these cities.

In Zachodniopomorskie Voivodeship, replacement bus services will be introduced due to maintenance work on the Szczecinek–Białogard section. Five pairs of PKP Intercity trains will run via Stargard station, with a change of direction.

All changes have been included in the train timetable. More information can be obtained from the carriers.
