On Thursday, August 22, we reported that the police arrested two people suspected in the murder case. It turned out that earlier, before the tragedy occurred, these people had attended a funeral and, after the ceremony, organized a drinking binge in an apartment on Aleja Wojska Polskiego. Three people took part: two men and a woman.
Information provided by the District Prosecutor's Office in Jelenia Góra shows that during the drinking binge, an argument broke out between the men. The 58-year-old began beating the 48-year-old with a metal pipe. He struck him on the head and across his body.
The 48-year-old died as a result of his extensive injuries. A woman was in the apartment at the time, but, as she explained, she had consumed a large amount of alcohol and notified the police only after she woke up.
“The perpetrator was arrested and brought before the District Prosecutor's Office in Bolesławiec, where he was charged with murder, that is, an offense under Article 148 § 1 of the Criminal Code, punishable by imprisonment for no less than 10 years or life imprisonment,” Prosecutor Ewa Węglarowicz-Makowska, spokesperson for the District Prosecutor's Office in Jelenia Góra, told istotne.pl.
The prosecutor filed a motion with the court for his temporary detention. The court granted the motion. The man is being held in pre-trial detention.
