Both incidents occurred on roads in Złotoryja County. – The first incident occurred in the morning, during heavy rainfall – reports Aspirant Dominika Kwakszys of the Złotoryja County Police Headquarters.
Local police on the morning incident:
A 64-year-old driver was travelling in a Fiat passenger car. On the regional road between Pielgrzymka and Nowe Łąki, he lost control on a bend, left the road, moved onto the shoulder and ended up in a ditch, hitting a road sign along the way. The incident looked quite serious; fortunately, the driver was not injured and did not require medical assistance. He was fined for causing a road collision.
The police dispatcher was notified of the second incident after 9:00 p.m. Officers:
Upon arriving at the scene, police officers established that this incident had also occurred on a bend in the road. A 32-year-old driver of a Renault passenger car left the road, moved onto the shoulder and hit roadside trees twice. The force of the impact was so great that the car was thrown to the other side of the road, ultimately landing in a ditch. Medical rescuers provided the 32-year-old with assistance at the scene and he was then hospitalised due to his injuries. The man was probably driving while under the influence of alcohol. Blood was drawn from him for detailed testing. Proceedings will be conducted in the case.
