Miejski Zakład Gospodarki Komunalnej Sp. z o.o. w Bolesławcu organized eco-educational competitions and games during the Bolesławiec Ceramic Festival. The stand, open during the "Bolesławiec run" obstacle race, proved very popular.

Everyone who took part in a game or competition organized at the stand came away a winner. They received a prize, as well as knowledge about how to handle waste properly, how to sort it and which waste can be sent for recycling.

MZGK Sp. z o.o. leads the organization of environmental campaigns. Every year, it organizes the "Elekrtograty wymiatamy z chaty" campaign, during which residents receive tree and shrub seedlings in exchange for electrical waste. MZGK in Bolesławiec also organized EKOfeston, a nationwide online environmental festival, and a waste-knowledge competition.

For many years, MZGK Bolesławiec has pursued an investment policy that improves the standard of services provided to residents. At the Municipal Waste Treatment Plant in Trzebień, three EU-funded projects have already been completed. As part of them, a tunnel composting hall and waste bays were built; the sorting line was upgraded through the installation of ferrous and non-ferrous metal separators and the construction of a new conveyor; two telescopic loaders, a waste screener, a shredder for bulky waste and a specialist vehicle with a hook-lift system were purchased.

MZGK Sp. z o.o. is fulfilling its obligations under the Electromobility Act.

“The ecological direction of our company’s development prompted us to purchase an electric Volvo refuse truck,” says the president of MZGK. “Such a vehicle on Bolesławiec’s roads will allow us to reduce pollutant emissions into the air and ensure quiet waste collection from residents, even in the early morning hours. Because we have a photovoltaic installation, we will be able to charge the refuse truck with electricity produced by us,” he added Krzysztof Basiak.

Bolesławiec also has a Selective Municipal Waste Collection Point. PSZOK is a free, convenient and legal way to dispose of waste. Anyone who pays the municipal waste-management fee to Gmina Miejska Bolesławiec and brings sorted waste to the point will receive a sorting bag as a gift. The “bag for sorted waste” campaign will continue until supplies run out. Miejski Zakład Gospodarki Komunalnej w Bolesławcu and Miasto Bolesławiec invite residents to sort their waste and bring it to the point.
