At the instruction of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Jelenia Góra, services detained 7 people suspected of operating in an organised crime group in Warsaw and in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, including Jelenia Góra and Karkonosze County. The group was involved in organising and operating illegal gambling establishments.
The closure of 10 illegal gambling establishments in Karkonosze County is the result of joint actions by officers of the Lower Silesian, Opole, Greater Poland and Mazovian KAS units and police officers from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Jelenia Góra. The services seized 43 illegal machines. The machines contained more than PLN 95,000 in cash. An additional PLN 32,000 was secured.
7 people detained and charged
The prosecutor charged the detainees with participation in an organised crime group and fiscal offences. Preventive measures were imposed on the suspects in the form of property bail ranging from PLN 10,000 to PLN 20,000, police supervision, a travel ban and a ban on contacting the other suspects.
The suspects are men and a woman aged between 29 and 56 from Karkonosze County. They face a prison sentence of between 6 months and 8 years.
