The incident took place last Sunday. – Before 10 p.m., a road incident occurred on Kręta Street in Legnica. Witnesses testified that the driver of a BMW was travelling at high speed and nearly hit them. He then crashed into a tree and a post located on the roadway – reports junior warrant officer Anna Tersa of the Legnica Municipal Police Headquarters. – The officers who arrived at the scene detected a strong smell of alcohol coming from the driver. A breathalyser test showed that he had more than 1.5 per mille of alcohol in his exhaled air.
That was not the end of it. The police spokesperson said: – A check in police systems showed that he had no driving entitlement whatsoever. However, the confident 20-year-old Ukrainian citizen denied this and produced a document, saying that he was authorised to drive.
The foreigner's arrogance did him little good, as the police determined that the document he presented was forged. The Ukrainian then admitted that he had bought the “document” from a friend.
The 20-year-old was detained. He will now answer for his actions before the court. The officers:
