The incident occurred on July 25. Firefighters from Lwówek Śląski:

(…) at 10:22 p.m., a report was received by the Command Post of the District Commander of the State Fire Service in Lwówek Śląski concerning cardiac arrest in a person who wanted to commit suicide.

Until uniformed officers arrived, the injured man’s neighbor performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation. The firefighters then took care of the man in crisis.

The Command: – After 13 minutes of providing first aid, the man regained vital signs. After the emergency medical team arrived at the scene, a decision was made to take the injured man to hospital.

Police officers from Bolesławiec remind people where to seek help in a crisis situation:

  • 116 123 – a free crisis helpline for adults experiencing an emotional crisis, available 7 days a week from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.;
  • 116 111 – a free helpline for children and young people, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week;
  • 800 108 108 – a free support helpline, available Monday through Sunday, except public holidays, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.;
  • 121 212 – a free helpline for children and young people operated by the Ombudsman for Children, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The uniformed officers: – We appeal for vigilance and a response when we notice that someone in our surroundings may be in a crisis situation. Let us not disregard any signs that someone is unable to cope with a difficult life situation; let us offer support and help in a crisis.

They add: – Throughout the country, you can call the emergency number 112 or the Crisis Helpline (no. 116 123) and the Youth Helpline (no. 116 111, available 24 hours a day), or the Ombudsman for Children’s Helpline 800 121 212 (available 24 hours a day).
