In the presence of the Acting Director of the Lower Silesian Branch of PFRON Agnieszka Kalinowska, Bolesławiec County Head Tomasz Gabrysiak, Deputy Bolesławiec County Head Patryk Hałka and County Treasurer Joanna Sady signed an agreement concerning the implementation, for the benefit of the Municipality of Bolesławiec, of the project entitled: “Primary School No. 4 in Bolesławiec—a school without barriers”. The PFRON funding amounts to PLN 47,526.24.

The funding will be used, among other things, to install doors with the wall opening widened to accommodate a 90 cm-wide door leaf, install door-handle covers bearing room numbers in Braille, and install a tactile map and information panels.

By decision of the PFRON Management Board’s plenipotentiaries, funding of PLN 144,000.00 was also granted to the County Complex of Schools and Special Institutions in Bolesławiec for the implementation of the project entitled: “Purchase of a passenger vehicle for transporting people with disabilities (including people with disabilities who use wheelchairs), with 9 seats”.

Cooperation and coordination of activities are crucial for the effective use of the funding obtained and for achieving the intended goals. The actions undertaken by Bolesławiec County to eliminate architectural, communication and transport barriers represent an important step towards building a more open and welcoming community. Improving the accessibility of public spaces is of great importance for integration and equal opportunities for all residents, regardless of their abilities or limitations.
