The incident occurred on July 18 in the center of Nowogrodziec. – Criminal investigators from the District Police Headquarters in Lubań, together with officers from the Hooligan Crime-Fighting Department of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław, determined through operational work that one of the residents of Bolesławiec County possessed a significant quantity of drugs at his place of residence – reports Senior Constable Aleksandra Pieprzycka from the Press Section of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław.
The police knew that the illegal activity was being conducted by a 37-year-old man. The spokesperson said: – After receiving the arrest warrant for the man issued by the District Prosecutor’s Office in Lubań, the officers went to the indicated location. There, after a brief observation, they noticed near the apartment in question a 28-year-old woman who, according to the information available, could also have been involved in possessing narcotic substances.
The officers then entered the apartment where the 37-year-old was staying and thoroughly searched both the living quarters and utility rooms.

During the operation, the police seized, among other things, an air pistol, cash, electronic scales, jars containing dried plant material, and zip-lock bags containing various substances, including chemical compounds with explosive properties that could have endangered the lives and health of many people. During a search of the suspect’s vehicle, the police discovered a package containing a pyrotechnic mixture capable of causing an explosion. In total, four hand-constructed packages were seized.
Due to the seriousness of the case, a decision was made to evacuate residents from nearby buildings and commercial premises until officers from the Independent Counter-Terrorist Police Subunit in Wrocław arrived.
The suspects were taken to the police unit in Lubań, where the substances discovered were examined on site. The spokesperson said: – The woman was charged with drug possession, for which she faces up to three years in prison. The substances discovered and seized at the man’s place of residence included more than 3,600 doses of heroin, approximately 30 doses of methamphetamine, a cannabis plant, and a small amount of marijuana.
The detained man was charged at the Lubań prosecutor’s office with, among other things, producing hazardous materials, possessing a significant quantity of drugs, as well as producing and supplying them. He faces up to 10 years in prison.
