Officers from the Police Station in Szklarska Poręba and Police Station II in Jelenia Góra detained two 23-year-old residents of Karkonosze County. The reason? Growing and producing dried hallucinogenic mushrooms and possessing significant quantities of narcotic drugs.
– On June 22 this year, officers responded to a report concerning a young man feeling unwell. The report indicated a possible connection with drug use. Upon arrival, the police found two 23-year-old residents of Karkonosze County in the apartment. They were the owner of the premises and his friend – reports Sub-Inspector Edyta Bagrowska, press officer of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Jelenia Góra. – During the intervention, the officers detected a strong smell of marijuana, which prompted them to take further action at the scene.
The result? The officers seized significant quantities of marijuana, from which more than 3,500 commercial doses could have been produced. The drugs were stored, among other places, in jars.

Moreover, the officers discovered that the men were cultivating mycelium from which nearly 100 grams of dried hallucinogenic mushrooms had been obtained. During further work on the case, the officers determined that one of the detainees was also involved in selling drugs.
Both men were detained and taken to police custody. An investigation is ongoing to determine the full extent of the detainees' criminal activities and identify potential recipients of the drugs.
The young men now face up to 10 years in prison. Both were also placed under police supervision and banned from leaving the country.
