On June 23, at around 8:15 p.m., – officers from the Jelenia Góra traffic police went to a report stating that a Fiat was travelling along Wojska Polskiego Street and that its driver might be intoxicated – reports junior inspector Edyta Bagrowska, press officer of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Jelenia Góra. – The officers spotted the vehicle on Wolności Street. As the driver was leaving a property, he hit a roadside lamp.
The officers stopped him for a roadside check. They detected a strong smell of alcohol coming from the 34-year-old man. The test showed that he had nearly 3‰. The spokeswoman said: – Under the applicable laws, the officers confiscated not only his driving licence but also the car driven by the county resident.
The vehicle was secured and placed in storage. The man was taken to police custody to sober up and for further proceedings. Junior inspector E. Bagrowska:
The 34-year-old will now answer for his actions before the court. He may face up to 3 years in prison, a substantial fine, a driving ban, and the loss of his driving licence and car.
