Officers from the Police Station in Kruszyn detained a 23-year-old Ukrainian citizen. The Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters reported: – While intoxicated, the man lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a roadside shrine.

It added:

A sobriety test showed that the offender had got behind the wheel of a car belonging to a friend with more than 2.5 per mille of alcohol in his system. In addition, the 23-year-old had an active driving ban issued by the District Court in Racibórz.

The man was detained. Once sober, he was brought by police officers under expedited proceedings to the District Court in Bolesławiec, where he was sentenced. Among other things, the court imposed a lifetime driving ban on the Ukrainian and ordered the forfeiture of the equivalent value of the car he had been driving. The foreign national must also make a monetary payment to the Fund for Assistance to Victims and Post-Penitentiary Assistance.
